Country moving towards planned development: PM Oli

Kaski: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chairperson and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the country was heading towards planned development, and hence should not get stuck on petty issues. Speaking at a provincial gathering of the NCP here today, Oli said he was being targeted as the country’s development had accelerated in the past three years. “The people who are against development are targeting me, and even a physical assault would not be surprising,” Oli said.
Reactionary forces and their accomplices should not be allowed to ruin this movement, he said while appealing to party workers to remain alert to avoid the party and country’s future heading towards the dark.
The ongoing movement is the need of the day, as it is for purification and consolidation of the party. He also accused the Madhav-Prachanda faction of trying to constitute a government that is comfortable for others and not for the nation.
He challenged the sides concerned to oust him through a no-confidence motion. Prime Minister Oli also claimed to win a two-thirds majority again in the next general elections.
The Prime Minister shared that talks would soon be held with the Netra Bikram Chand-led group. At the programme, some 100 cadres including from the Chand-led group and other parties joined the NCP.
Deputy Prime Minister and party secretariat member Iswar Pokharel, party secretariat member and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, central member and Agriculture and Livestock Minister Padma Aryal and other speakers addressed the gathering.
