PM Oli   reshuffle cabinet today

Kathmandu (Asan Bazaar patrika )  Twenty months after taking over as the Prime Minister of Nepal, KP Sharma Oli is headed for a reshuffle in his Council of Ministers.

Informing the incumbent ministers about his plan of reshuffle scheduled today , Prime Minister Oli has requested all not to make formal programs for today and be in the Kathmandu valley only. ” He said yesterday I will be reshuffling the cabinet tomorrow. Some of you might be replaced by new faces; you will know my decision the next day. I thank you all for your support and ask you not to take it otherwise,” a minister requesting not to be identified by name quoted Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as saying after cabinet meeting got over on Tuesday evening.
The latest round of cabinet meeting was held at Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar owing to his health condition.
“He (Prime Minister) did not give any hints about who would be going off the seat and who will be chaired. Even I don’t have a clue whether I would remain minister for remaining days or it’s my last day in the post,” the minister added.
Plan of cabinet reshuffle always has been on the Prime Minister’s table who recently had asked his secretariat members to resign from the post.
The incumbent government under Prime Ministership of KP Sharma Oli was formed in February of 2018 after the landslide victory in the Federal Election when the then Communist Party of Nepal- Marxist Leninist won the maximum seat forming an alliance of Leftist parties .

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has reshuffled the Cabinet on Wednesday evening.In a press statement, the President’s Office made public a list of reconstituted Cabinet led by PM Oli.The President’s Office stated that the cabinet has been reconstituted as per the recommendation of the Council of Ministers in accordance with the Article 76 (9) of the Constitution.Prime Minister Oli has inducted nine new faces in the Cabinet while ousting eight ministers.

Pradeep Kumar Gyawali Minister Foreign Affairs 6. Hridayesh Tripathi Minister Federal Affairs and General Administration 7. Girirajmani Pokharel Minister Education, Science and Technology 8. Barshaman Pun Minister Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation 9. Ghanashyam Bhusal Minister Agriculture and Livestock Development 10. Bhanubhakta Dhakal Minister Health and Population 11. Lekhraj Bhatta Minister Industry, Commerce and Supplies 12. Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai Minister Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation 13. Shakti Bahadur Basnet Minister Forest and Environment 14. Rameswar Raya Yadav Minister Labour, Employment and Social Security 15. Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada Minister Finance 16. Mohammad Istiyak Rai Minister Urban Development 17. Rambir Manandhar Minister of State Urban Development This is stated in a statement issued by assistant spokesperson of the Office of the President Keshav Prasad Ghimire. In the new cabinet, Hridayesh Tripathi, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Lekhraj Bhatta, Rameswar Raya Yadav, Basant Kumar Nembang and Parbat Gurung are the new ministers while all three Ministers of State including Moti Lal Dugad, Nawaraj Rawat and Rambir Manandhar are new additions.

The new faces in the Oil-led  Cabinet ; Bashanta Nembang as Minister for Minister for Physical Infrastructure, Hridayas Tripathi as Minister for General Administration, Parbat Gurung as Minister for Women, Ghanshyam Bhusal as Minister for Agriculture,  Lekhraj Bhatta as Minister for Commerce and Rameshwar Raya Yadav as Minister for Labor. Likewise, Moti Dugad, Rambir Manandhar and Nawaraj Rawat have been inducted as the state ministers for Industry, Urban Development and Health respectively. PM Oli will administer oath of office and secrecy to new ministers on Thursday at the President’s Office. Meanwhile, Minister for Health Upendra Yadav has now got the responsibility of the Minister for Law. Likewise, Minister for Law Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal is now the health minister in the cabinet.

Whose portfolio remained intact?

Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali, Energy Minister Barsha Man Pun, Minister for Information Gokul Baskota, Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai and Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada will continue as ministers.

Those ousted:

Those ousted are namely Minister for Physical Infrastructure Raghubir Mahaseth, Minister for General Administration Lalbabu Pandit, Minister for Women Tham Maya Thapa, Minister for Agriculture Chakrapani Khanal, Minister for Commerce Matrika Yadav and Minister for Labor Gokarna Bista.
