Prachanda-Nepal group asks lawmakers not to leave Katmandu Valley


Kathmandu: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction has directed lawmakers close to the group not to leave the Kathmandu Valley at present.
At the parliamentary party meeting of the group held on Wednesday, Chairs duo Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal said a session of the reinstated House of Representatives could be held at any time as the Supreme Court had directed for summoning of the session within 13 days of its verdict issued Tuesday, repealing the House dissolution.
According to leader Ram Kumari Jhankri who was present in the meeting, lawmakers presently available in the Kathmandu Valley had been asked to not leave as the meeting could be summoned at any time and if emergency, they had been directed to inform the leadership.
During the meeting, chairs duo Dahal and Nepal briefed the latest political developments in details and extended gratefulness to all those advocating for the reinstatement of the House of Representatives (HoR).
The government on December 20 had dissolved the HoR. The constitutional bench of the Supreme Court on Tuesday revoked the decision to dissolve the HoR.
The highest court, during the hearing on the writ against the dissolution of HoR, in the country had termed the government’s move as ‘unconstitutional’ and had ordered to summon the House session within the 13 days. RSS
