Anthology of ‘North American Nepali Poems’ published


Kathmandu: An anthology of poetry entitled ‘(Uttar Ameriki Nepali Kabita (North American Nepali Poems)’ edited by literary writer and diplomat Krisu Kshetry has been recently published.
Nepal Academy brought out the publication containing creative writings of Nepali writers residing in different parts of the globe.
The anthology has encompassed poetic creations of 221 Nepali poets from the United States and Canada.
Editor Kshetry had started collecting poetic creations of Nepali writers while he was in diplomatic service in the US for the last four years.
He shared the anthology has brought together poems of Nepali writers which has artistically reflected the pain, pleasure, struggle, ups and downs and sense of belongingness during their work place in foreign land.
“The poetry has also articulated the pressing issues of global humanism, democracy, social justice and human rights”, Kshetry added.
It was an exemplary work to compile poems of Nepali literary writers residing in the North American region which also vividly presents global diversity.
“The US is a country of diversity. The writers of Nepali language here have expressed Nepali peculiarity and fragrance through their creative writings”.
The collection has also included Diaspora writings showcasing the life, society and experiences of Nepali people. The compilation will believably help undertake research and study on poetry of Nepali Diaspora and non-immigrants. RSS
