“Pradeep Giri is not a person but an idea”

Yuganath Sharma Poudyal
It has been a year since the death of respected leader Pradeep Giri. Nepali Congress held a program at the central office of Sanepa to commemorate him. I have seen that many people have different opinions about him, but in my experience, Pradeep Dai is not only a son of the Giri Khandan of Samastipur Siraha, but he is a modern idea of Nepali society, he is not just a person, he is an idea of today’s time, where everyone can feel the pain of the lower level of the society. Because of the interview with Pradeep Giri from a long time ago. In his absence, not only ideologically but also politically, I feel like an orphan.
After the death of BP Koirala, Kisunji and Ganeshmanji, it is a reality that there has been a drought of ideological politics in the Nepali Congress. In the absence of Pradeep Giri, there is no need to be ashamed to say that it has been ruined. My closeness with Pradeep’s brother happened during the Panchayat period, at that time it was my respected friend Revathiraman Subedi who made me close to him. He was the one who brought me closer because they had a very close relationship. Pradeep for reading me many books written in English, Hindi and Nepali languages. It is not possible to talk about the fact that Dai has brought it after searching for it.
From the British Library to the American and Indian libraries, he inspired me to read many books and mentioned many references. If you write all those things, it can become a good book. Only a few friends knew that he used to regularly come/go to Commander Offset Printers in my residence alone. He was motivating me to publish Samata magazine in the last few days. My Asan Bazar Weekly and Commander Post. I found him very sad even when the national daily was suspended for some time.
As far as I know, in recent days he was ideologically in favor of taking the path of rebellion within the Nepali Congress, but that work was stopped when his health failed. Had his health supported him, he would have announced his abandonment of the Nepali Congress in the style of Ganeshman Singh and Kisunji in recent days. I believe that the Nepali Congress should take this formal claim of mine seriously. Satalipsa taken by the Nepali Congress before the elections by disregarding the ideas and principles Pradeep Dai was not satisfied with the alliance. It was not easy for anyone.
In recent days, he was not satisfied with the new constitution of Nepal. Everyone knows that he accepted the voice of his inner soul and boycotted the constitution without signing it when it was promulgated. His conclusion was that this constitution has not been able to bring all the Nepalese people to the national mainstream and it is still a constitution with discriminatory thinking. I also participated in a seminar held in Patna, India with him.
After returning to Nepal, he told Gopalman Shrestha, a senior leader of the Nepali Congress, about the ideas I had put forward in that seminar. When Gopalman Dai called me and told me that Yugnath was very impressed with what you said in Patna, Pradeep Giri, I said:- I told the then Foreign Secretary of India Shyam Sharan In the session conducted in 2007, if India had not played within the Nepali Congress in such a way as to strengthen BP Koirala, the election of the Constituent Assembly would have been held at that time and the peak of Raja MahendraI had said that not only the country has been left far behind by putting young leaders like BP Koirala in prison because of ambition, but also that this mistake was the reason for the majority of communists in the hall of the Constituent Assembly in Nepal.
Not only that, even though India had removed Rana, the Constituent Assembly was in a state of panic because of Rana’s sons-in-law. Some high officials and political figures from Nepal and India were present there. And Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was the chief guest in that seminar.
Nitishkumar in his inaugural speech, after first addressing the Speaker, said, “Aajki es manchamen mere samnne, my respected educational leader Pradeep Giriji sat in front of him, what should I say to him?” This was the view of him (Pradeep Dai) by the Indian leaders!! This level of respect given to the son of a Nepali by the Chief Minister of 250 million people shows everything. No matter how much I write about Pradeep Dai, it is impossible to write about him. In fact, he was the real thinker of Ram Manohar Lohia’s ideas. A lot about him The days of writing will come and many books about his ideas will surely come. There is an illusion that there are some Jewish faces who are still debating ideologically and theoretically within the Nepali Congress, but they are only the School of Pradeep Giri, which is considered synonymous with the School of Democracy even today. Heartfelt remembrance and respect to Pradeep Dai. Jay Nepal.
