Pokhara: Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ramchandra Poudel said corruption was key impediment to the country’s development.
Country’s development was not possible without an end to corruption, he said at the citizens’ campaign against corruption organized here today by Shailaja Acharya Adarsha Samaj Kaski.
People’s level of frustration has increased owing to all-pervasive corruption, he said, adding, people are even discontent with honest politicians due to wrongdoings by some leaders.
Also speaking on the occasion, former Speaker Taranath Ranabhat said no leaders should be spared if s/he was found involved in corruptions.
Chairperson of Shailaja Acharya Adarsha Samaj Durga Ghimire said gap between rich and poor is widening due to corruption. —
